A client had a challenge for us with this one! A leaky refrigerator had gone unnoticed for months and caused extensive water damage to the floor. We had to go down to the bones and even replace 3 flooring joists! As a cost saving measure for the cleint, we used some extra tiles they had from a separate project, resulting in a slight mismatch, but overall a great result.
Once we had removed the original tile, the extent of the damage to the subfloor was obvious. Just look at these crumbling pieces of moldy plywood! It completely separated using just two fingers.
Finding mushrooms the size of a man’s hand in your floor is just bad news.
